“The message to Putin is that there will likely be no extra anti-Western Belarusian chief, which implies that we should maintain on to this,” Artyom Shraibman, a Minsk-based analyst, wrote in a commentary. “Any change of energy in Minsk in such a state of affairs is a drift towards the Belarusian rapprochement with Europe.”
